This West Hollywood site development focuses on integrating the surrounding community through zoning analysis and environmental studies. The project consists of a mixed-use building with strategic public and private spaces. The design includes residential units above split retail spaces, with podium-level communal areas located on the south to maximize natural light. The residential units align parallel with the street with each unit offering additional private outdoor spaces with movable privacy panels. The building’s unique form, two intersecting rectangular volumes, defines a central circulation zone and communal areas which can be favorable to the residents. Additionally, each unit is distinct, with no identical units, while effectively addressing structural and plumbing challenges throughout. The facade design accommodates the building’s complexity, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic cohesion.
