The proposed development at 2715 E. Washington aims to establish a community recreational center serving the industrial area and surrounding neighborhood. Designed to integrate seamlessly with the unique and developing neighborhood, the center will provide a crucial space for workers and future residents to engage in physical activity, relax, and connect with their community throughout the day. The building’s design is influenced by the scale and function of other high-traffic recreational buildings, catering to the lifestyle needs of a diverse population.
As the area anticipates further residential growth, this center will serve as a central hub for future and existing residents and workers, offering a wide range of amenities to support both physical and professional well-being. The proposed program includes an expansive fitness areas, multi-functional lounge spaces, a café, outdoor recreation zones, a career center, and a variety of workspaces and classrooms. These features are intended to foster community engagement, provide opportunities for personal and professional development, and create an environment that supports both active living and career advancement.
Architecturally, the building is composed of a unique volume with a central courtyard, focusing on maximizing space for fitness and recreational activities. In parallel, the design accommodates the increasing demand for educational and professional spaces, reflecting the area's developing character. This project seeks to create a flexible, dynamic facility that can adapt to the needs of a growing community while promoting health, well-being, and connectivity.
